Servings: enough to fill 4 16 oz jars Prep Time: 15-20 min
Notes: I like to recycle peanut butter and almond butter jars to store the cooked beans in the freezer. We use the beans in entrees and salads.
I've also made these in the slower cooker, on high for about 4 hrs or low 8 hrs. | |
Ingredients:
4 cups dried, rinsed beans water |
Instructions:
1. Rinse the beans, then let soak in fresh water for at least 8 hours.
2. After 8 hours, pour out all the soaking water, then add fresh water to cover the beans at least 1 inch. 3. Bring pot of beans to a boil, then simmer for 35-50 minutes or to your desired consistency. |
