Paleo Frosting


Recipe: Paleo Frosting
Adapted From:  Real Food RN
Tested: Sept. 2, 2015
Servings: about 1 1/2 cups     Prep Time:  5 min
Notes: This frosting was easy to put together. It will harden in the refrigerator so it's best to let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then rewhip.

We had extra frosting left, about 3/4 of a cup. We added an egg, about 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking powder and 3 tbsp date sugar and mixed until smooth, then added 1/8 cup crushed cashews. We then baked it at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. This made 6 delicious cupcakes! My daughter called our creation "chocolate mix".

Ingredients:
1 cup palm shortening
1/2 cup raw honey
2 Tsp vanilla
4 Tbsp arrowroot powder
4 Tbsp coconut flour

1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and use an immersion blender to mix until smooth.

2. Frost cake or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
